What can I expect at my visit?

Our licensed pyschologist, Doctor Shelley Tindell-Nodine, Psy.D. may first conduct a detailed interview and gather information about you and your complaints and symptoms.

Depending on your symptoms and complaints, you may be scheduled for psychological and/or neuropsychological testing.

How is the testing administered?

There are three different ways that the psychological and neuropsychological testing may be administered:

1.    Face to face with various tools
2.    Computer testing
3.    Written testing

What happens after the testing?

After the testing is completed, the pyschologists will interpret the results and develop a therapeutic
care plan which may include counseling and cognitive rehabilitation.

Neurology and Physical Therapy Centers of Tampa Bay provide physical therapy services in Tampa and St. Petersburg. We have two physical therapists on staff:  Rebecca Wilder, DPT and Nicole Hammel, PT.
Physical therapists can help people who have injuries or who have aggravated a chronic condition to improve their movement and may help to manage their pain. Physical therapists can play an important part in the rehabilitation and treatment of these patients.  Some of these conditions can come from auto accidents, sports injuries, work related accidents and fall related accidents.

Besides the obvious head pain, symptoms of a headache can include vision loss, dizziness, tingling on one side of the body, nausea,  vomiting and sensitivity to light, noise or certain smells.

Nerve conduction studies (NCV's) and electromyography
(EMG) are sometimes used to diagnose neuromuscular conditions,
such as  radiculopathy (pinched nerve in neck or back), peripheral
nerve entrapment (ex. carpal tunnel syndrome or ulnar nerve entrapment),
or myopathy (ex. muscular dystrophy).
